[edit] What's the latest firmware revision?

Isnt 1004 the only/latest firmware for the 42 T-LIV units? Benjamin 07 Nov.

Don't know. I thought it was 1010? --grimholtz 03:39, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Unless I missed it, Samsung has not issued a firmware version 1010 for the 42 LIV models. Im almost certain its still 1004. Benjamin 07 Nov.

[edit] white lies

Eric - I was the one who removed the 'little white lies' when calling Samsung dialog, because I believe it's unprofessional to encourage that kind of thing. I wasn't logged in at the time. --Mfenech 03:35, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I see. You're right, it's unprofessional... I tried to word it better so the word "lie" isn't there. If you think it still sounds unprofessional, please delete it again and I won't put it back. I value your editorial opinion :) --grimholtz 04:11, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
How's that? --Mfenech 05:51, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Good work. Thanks. --grimholtz 15:41, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Put 1.1 mapping (just scan)as #2 topic by error and dont know how to move it.

Just hit the "edit" link in the tab at the top of the page, then cut/paste the topic wherever you want. If you use the edit links to the right of each section, you can't cut/paste between sections. --205.181.102.120 18:20, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Why did you remove the section on audio-drop out? --grimholtz 16:26, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

re. Audio Dropout - It's back (moved wrong section). I moved Shop Mode to Misc. since it had nothing to do with Firmware.

cool, thanks. p.s. if you get a chance to register an account, that would be nice. you can get emailed when a page changes to see what's been done. it'll help me out with the editing (we had only one case of vandalism so far, but as more content is put here that might increase). --grimholtz 16:42, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Some have asked if the firmware can be determined by the serial number - in other words, finding out prior to purchase. Is the firmware on the box label? --Mfenech 20:56, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

I'll check my box tonight and report back. --grimholtz 21:33, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding USB Capacity

Its possible some files expand during the upgrade process, thus requiring more space than the original files. The upgrade is computer controlled, so perhaps the computer has to download a number of temporary files to the USB drive during the upgrade. Did anyone mention the capacity of the USB drives Samsung sent to them. Benjamin.

Yes, I suppose that's possible. No one has discussed the USB size to my knowledge. Seems most people get the update through download now. Maybe we should ask on AVS? --grimholtz 15:47, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

I was looking at the firmware file today and when its unzipped its approximately 37-38MB. If temp files are also involved, it could use up the remaining portion of the 64MB USB that Samsung recommends. Benjamin-05 OCT

[edit] Firmware 1039

This upgrade file also contains a LIV 1010 upgrade file.

How do you know? --grimholtz 11:49, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

You're working too hard Eric. After discussing the contents of the 1035 Firmware update with you for several days, Im surprised you would ask me how I know whats in the 1039 upgrade.

Well, you didn't sign your comment above so I don't know who that is :) Is it Benjamin? Anyway, do you know by looking at info.txt or is there a separate folder or something? Please sign your comments, too. It's really easy--when editing a Talk page, you'll see a toolbar of buttons on top of the edit area. One of the buttons is a bold button, the next an italics button, etc. Hover over each to a see tooltip about what it does. The second to last button's tooltip says "Your signature with timestamp". Just click that when finished typing. Thanks! --grimholtz 17:22, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the info on signing in, I didnt know how to do it. Yes the file version info is in the text file in folder us_50v.

The website that is linked to the 1039 Firmware says no server can be found. Is there another location to download this? - Dan the Man (3/25/08)

Sorry about that. Link fixed --Eric H. Jung 20:39, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] No USB service port

Is there any way I can upgrade my firmware? I do not have a USB port, only a small jack socket....

What model do you have? --Eric H. Jung 16:48, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

I am in the UK and the model number is PS42Q7HDX. I am getting a blue haze over the whites at the top and left of the screen. I understand that a firmware update can cure this?

I want to update my SAMSUNG PDP PS-42C7SGP plasma tv, but also only have the small service connector. How to proceed? - Mornay - mornay.hey@gmail.com

Thanks!
